Resignation of two independent members of National Statistical Commission a result of Modi govt’s general character of lies & deceit
PM Modi must explain this sad development at NSC and acknowledge the unemployment crisis by declaring it a National Disaster
The resignation of two independent members of the four-member National Statistical Commission is a disturbing development and a result of Modi government’s unholy attitude towards truth and it’s inclination to muzzle and control public information. This troubling news also vindicates the concerns of Yuva-Hallabol, the Nationwide youth movement against unemployment, that the Modi government has been playing with data on jobs to trick the Indian youth.
This is a government of lies and deceit where the biggest casualty is truth and public welfare. The allegations levelled by both the NSC members against the government are of serious nature and is exactly what Yuva-Hallabol has been constantly warning.
Yuva-Hallabol leader Anupam said, “At a time when unemployment is the single largest issue in the country and the youth is under immense frustration due to lack of jobs & fair selection, the insensitive Modi government has been more focussed on concealing the indicators of unemployment instead of addressing the burning issue. While the CMIE findings show that eleven million jobs were lost in the year 2018 alone, the annual NSSO survey on employment hasn’t yet been made public by the government. Muzzling the information flow has been a general character of this government even in other issues such as that of farmers’ suicide data.
Yuva-Hallabol has demanded that Prime Minister Modi come out clean and clear the circumstances in which the two independent NSC members had to resign and acknowledge the crisis of unemployment by declaring it a National Disaster.
